Vintage glass pendant in a darker shade of blue, similar to that of lagoon water. The pendant is double rolled gold. Dead stock.
Rolled gold is achieved by mechanically plating or fusing a base metal sheet with a sheet of carat gold. Rolled gold or gold-cased are not the same as gold plate jewelry. Gold plating was invented in the 1840s and involves a process by which gold was deposited on a metal base using electric current. It is a less durable process than rolled gold or gold casing, with a thinner coating of gold.
